voting rights in swing states

If you can travel to a swing state on or before November 2, there are various “get out the vote” efforts seeking volunteers. Volunteers are also needed to hand out voter rights information in at-risk neighborhoods, and to monitor polling places to prevent voting rights abuses on election day. Check out the following and consider volunteering some time.

The Election Protection Coalition:

AFL-CIO Voting Rights Protection Program:
www.worksafe.org/about/extra.cfm

Democratic National Committee Voting Rights Institute:
www.democrats.org/vri/volunteer/

You don’t have to be a Democrat or a union member to volunteer. You just have to want to work to protect voting rights during this election.

CALIFORNIA VOTERS: If you’re not in CA on election day, it’s easy to vote absentee. The deadline for absentee voter applications in CA is October 26. So if you are planning on travelling to a swing state to do voter rights work prior to the November 2 election, you can print out an absentee voter application from the CA Secretary of State’s website at:

www.ss.ca.gov/elections/e..._m.htm#apply

All you do is fill it out and mail it back to an elections official. All the information you need is at this URL. Thanks for looking at this.
